Hiding from Change?

Transformation

The thing about transformations are that they are not always easy. And, some people embrace change a little more quickly than others. Some people actually thrive on change. But, there are others that the very thought of change makes them uncomfortable at a minimum or worse, literally sick.

You may have been on a transformation journey your entire life and this is just the next phase of it, but others of you may find yourself rocked to the core by a change you weren’t expecting. Maybe you just lost your job or experienced a death of someone close to you that will impact your day-to-day activities. No one is exempt from change, but some changes may feel better than others.

ACKNOWLEDGE: Acknowledge that change is happening. Become aware of all of the areas that your life will be impacted and take stock in your current situation. There will be a difference between where you are today and where you need to be ‘tomorrow’. There will be things that you may need to do differently. There may be things that can stay the same. But, having awareness of current state and future state is the first step.

LEARN: You will undoubtably need to learn some new things. The path from your current state to your desired future state is not always straightforward. You may need different skills for a new job or learn how to cook if you’ve lost someone that has been a caretaker for the family. Or, maybe you are starting a new family and you feel unprepared for the magnificent change that awaits you. You have the ability to learn new things and prepare yourself for any future you desire.

LEAN IN: Embrace the change. By acknowledging the change that is coming and learning new skills and abilities, you have prepared yourself for the change. Now take some time to practice and embrace the change. Be present and aware of how this change feels and what you can take from it.

TRANSFORM: This step can happen at any time. Some transformations take years, some months, and some only days. It is not necessarily linear, but will likely be occurring while you are acknowledging, learning, and leaning in. And, you can be sure, this will not be your last transformation.

If any of this resonates with you and you could use a partner along this journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

With Love,

Wendy
